For the last couple of months now, I’ve been on the hunt for a new game to play. I thought I had found one on the PSP. Titled “Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon”. I caught interest in this, as I’m a huge fan of the Harvest Moon game series. Straight from the first game on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). I remember buying that game, too.
Walked right into the Game store and demanded it. It was fun! I love it so much.
Regardless, A couple months ago I had saw a game on the PSP (Playstation Portable) and I wanted to try it. Forcing myself not to buy it outright, and find a copy to rent and try, I held off. I’m actually glad I did, but at the time I was kicking myself because when I went back for it, it was gone.
Flash foward to two weeks ago, I spotted the same game at a local Used game store, Electronics Boutique (EB games), and jumped happily! Best part, it was only $10!!!
As I went up to the cashier, she pulled out the UMD disk for it, and I began to notice that the back of the casing looked rough. Worse off, the lady tried to smudge off what she thought was a smudge, but it wasn’t. My boyfriend pointed out that it looked pretty worse for the wear, so I looked at it more carefully. Huge scratches everywhere, like it had been in someone’s pocket with rocks and dirt. I had to decline that copy… So she called another store nearby. They didn’t have the PSP one in stock, so I left the store dejected.
I had just got outside the store about 5 minutes away, when the lady chased me down and told me the other store didn’t have the PSP version, BUT! A brand new copy of the PS2 version was there, for $30. I never knew a PS2 version had been out, so I was curious. I went home and rented it from the store, and I was sold! I played an hour or so into the game, and was hooked. I really wanted this game now.
So I took back some old Nintendo DS games I didn’t play anymore, and got credit to get the game. Huzzah! I’ve been happily pleased ever since!
Harvest Moon games have been a great way to waste time, and their slow pace really lets me unwind after a busy day at work. And this game’s story caught me as well! I can honestly say there is no spoilers when I say that you play the main character, a robot in the form of a young child. Your codename, “Innocent Life”. Your creator Dr. Grain had built you for a great purpose. The island home where a great deal of people live has a legend that states that the Fire/Volcano god is upset at everyone for relying too much on technology for even the most mundane of tasks (Shopping, for instance. You have a techno kart that follows you around the store).
Dr. Grain felt that humans wouldn’t be able to help ease the god, so he built you. To farm by hand, just like in the good old days! The Ironic part is, is that later on you get technology to help you out, so it’s rather funny. A robot using techology to farm!
The music for the game is beautiful. Simply gorgeous! I’m not a fan of the Rune Factory games so much, as they’re really too much RPG like. But this game, Innocent Life, is more like a regular Harvest Moon game, but with a technological twist instead!
Some people may not like this game for it’s slow pace, or modest story (to them), but I definitely recommend this game to check out at the very least. Off to go play some more!! <3
Part 1 – Mackerel Tabby – Brown
Part 1 in a series of faux black felt “paintings” of cat portrait’s. This one is styled as a generic house-cat, the Brown Mackerel Tabby. Characterized by their “M” shaped marking on their foreheads.
This one is named “Salem”. He’s a very loving kitty, kind, and cuddly! Salem likes to push his head against you, and then stare at you with his deep eyes. A cute little white muzzle, and a golden belly that loves to be rubbed! Salem will continue rolling on his back until someone rubs his tummy. He also has huge daisy paws, with black pads.
CUDDLES!!
>(^n_n^)<
New layout is now in place! I’m quite happy with it actually. I am really in love with the advert logo up there.
Nice.
On a random note, as you can tell, I’m working out some kinks, etc, etc. ^^ Hopefully this new site layout works for everyone. Expect to see some new art, some reviews, and other funky things soon. (Almost done a huge project at work, so I’ll have some free time! …maybe. ^^; )
Uh. nothing too exciting here at the moment… Oh yeah.

NERDS!!! Oh my GOSH. When I was a kid I used to chow down on these tiny little candies called ‘Nerds’, by ‘Wonka Candies‘. My favorite flavor was actually the rainbow flavored packs you’d usually get around Halloween, but since I grew up, they VANISHED. Or nearly… apparently it’s a common sight in the US to see the big blue boxes of Rainbow colored Nerds, but here in Calgary, it’s not very common at all! Heck, I was shocked when I saw them magically appear in the Seasonal section of the local Shopper’s Drug Mart. Then when they ran out I got sad…
But! My brother came to the rescue! He found out that 7-Eleven’s are selling them, too! So my rainbowy nerds addiction continues! these things kick so much arse. Especially when you open a brand new pack only to find some mutated freakishly huge nerd sitting on top. XD
It’s that time of year again for Calgarians and tourists alike! It’s time for the Calgary Stampede.
Always touted as the greatest Outdoor Show on earth, it has been a staple to millions of patrons each year–and it just keeps getting bigger.
A simple way to notice, is the increased ridership on public transit (most notibly the C-Train, our town’s Light Rail Transit system), and the huge sudden affiliction for leather boots, jeans and cowboy hats that you nosmally wouldn’t be caught dead wearing at any other time of the year.
Pancake breakfast’s start early in the mornings, and usually have huge lineups, but who doesn’t want some good old fashioned pancakes with syrup and breakfast sausages, then down that concotion with orange juice?
Sneak-a-Peak is a night before the official start of the Stampede, where a select lucky few thousand have the chance, and freedom, of being able to walk without being ushered through busy walkways like herded cattle, and get first dibs on rides and attractions.
Parades also start the official beginning. Everyone goes for different reasons, be it the Rodeo, Chuck Wagon racing, carnival rides, gambling, exhibitions, or the food. I mostly go for the food of course!
Mini donuts, corn dogs, barbecue roast beef, pulled pork sandwiches. Mmm! I honestly don’t like missing the incredible Super Dogs show whenever I go. Maybe you’ll go too? Whether you make it or not, just be sure to check out the finale Grand Stand show. After the two hour show, you’re invited to a big fireworks spectacular!
Wow! The News right now is massive! Everyone scrambling, saying he’s suffered a Cardiac Arrest, and now news places are reeling out reports of his hospitalization, and some are even posting that he’s dead! WTF!!
LEECHES.
Edit:
Awh man… The King of Pop is now dead. x.x; Cnn just confirmed it, as well as about a million other websites. That is so hard to believe… My heart has sunk so low. I actually enjoyed Michael Jackson’s Music from my youth, and despite what he’s gone through..
Jeeze…..
